It wasn't light blue and red as currently depicted. It was DARK blue and red

This is a really interesting revelation. Isn't doing original historical research fun? Since this was the year I was born I don't have any first hand observations. Is this car the one Rose drove in 1940? I talked to Gary Doucette yesterday and he plans to issue this car. It will be a new design and not the old one he issued years ago. Thanks for sharing. Jim

Isn't it amazing that, even after more than 70 years, new information keeps popping up? Remarkable! As an addition to this, attached (hopefully!) is a link to a YouTube video. Blue color is slightly different, due to film qualities I think, but it looks very close to the photo. It is certainly NOT a pale light blue color. Also, in the video is another look at the Maserati, and appears to me to have the darker tail cone, as from the other thread. Anyway, the link is:
I had some doubts originally, because the hood in the photo showed sharp "spikes" of color, instead of the rounded contours I saw on the car. But, I think I am figuring that part out. No criticism intended, I'm certainly not remotely the historian/expert of many (most) of the others here. Just trying to match paint schemes in my mind. Thank you again for the photo, and for all the rest you do.
