Dinner time! Two days after you posted this one of these guys spun a beautiful web in the framework of our deck. Our deck is on the main floor and we have a walkout basement which is my office. When I walk out of my office the web is 10 feet in front of me right at eye level and 95% of the time the spider is just sitting there right in the center. I don't have the heart to get rid of it because it's just so freaking awesome.

No I wouldn't take it down, it will only be there for very short time as the cold weather will be here before we know it.

Cycle of life and death in the insect world Ambush bug eats bee (this picture doesn't show it well, but ambush bugs are about 1/3 - 1/4 the size of a bee) Spider eats ambush bug and via Calvin... mantis eats spider

Now this is a bug I've only seen once...about 6 years ago....I whished I could see another just so I could have a better picture this time around. It's some form of longhorn beetle. I'm not an entymologist so I could'nt tell you what species, but perhaps looking up longhorn Beetles endemic to your area would be a good place to start.

Don't think that spyder would last long around me. Poor thing! If I see one in the house I'll pick them up and put them outside. If there is one on my bed at night I'll just take the covers and just fling it off!

Don't think that spyder would last long around me. Poor thing! If I see one in the house I'll pick them up and put them outside. If there is one on my bed at night I'll just take the covers and just fling it off! I tend to leave spiders alone - they eat the other things that aren't supposed to be in the house. But generally the ones in the house aren't the super-creepy types. Moths on the other hand, I've developed a patented moth removal system. Splatting them is too messy. So I trap them with a small container - single serving apple sauce containers work great. I cover them up, slip a piece of cardboard underneath them, trapping them in the cup, then I release them outside. I even had hummingbird moth in my office once. Those things are big! They look just like a hummingbird when in flight. He filled up the whole apple sauce container.

I used to see those big ones in Oregon back in the day they would feed on the Butterfly bushes along side real Hummingbirds! LOL One of those hummer moths hit me it face once while riding my motorcycle - sun of @#*&%$ !! ouch! What the %#&@ ?

Thanks! I would like to tell you I just sat there and figured it out like a tough computer geek but no I just go on YouTube and watch set by step videos on how to do things on Photoshop - I'm visual learner and could never read on how to do this stuff...so I watch videos.
