Good afternoon to all! Well I finally found the cord for my camera and now I am going to attempt to post photos of the work in progress on my Lotus 29. I intend for this one to be made as Jim Clark's 1963 Lotus at Indy. I watched the debate over this kit as to how good or bad it is. I'm pretty much in agreement with Russ that this kit is not too bad. The nose though to me is dreadful. I have modified the nose of this kit so that it more closely resembles a Lotus. I don't think it's perfect but I think it's a lot better. I basically lengthened the nose by cutting it off at the opening for the suspension and then moved it out by about 1/4". I filled the gaps with sheet styrene and epoxy putty. I then added a sheet of styrene on both sides to make the nose deeper. I believe it was 0.060" sheet styrene. The bottom profile of the nose is also incorrect so I took a piece of sheet styrene. Cut it to the shape based on Bob Clidinst's drawings and then used epoxy putty to fill in around it. This is the first time I've tried something like this. It was more work than I thought it would be! Let me know what you think. Well, I don't know enough about the shapes to see how accurate that is, but the work itself is really good. Nice nose job.
