I completed 9 projects, 3 of which were open wheel cars. Hope to get at least that many done this year. G

62 - But only 3 ended up in my collection. I build for other collectors...it supports my bad habits.

You all did better than me! Honestly, I don't even know what the number was. I seemed to be doing OK the first half of the year, but after the flood in the model room in June, another busy fall and holiday season, and now with the impending arrival of twins in March/April, modeling time is scarce! I've got a few things going, hopefully I'll actually finish a few this year.

The best advice I got when my daughter was born is this: When they sleep, you sleep. Simple, isn't it? Otherwise you won't get any sleep. My other advice? When they are awake, put little masks on them so they don't inhale the fumes from your modeling projects. You do great work and I want to see more of them. Seriously, enjoy every minute with them. The time goes by quickly. My daughter is almost 10 and this has been the best 10 years of my life. Your kids will be your best friends and give you the most joy in life (even more than the models ) I only wish I had more kids.

For Christmas, I gave my wife two IMS bibs and two pairs of booties with the wing and wheel on them. My wife's name is Sarah, so I've been suggesting the names Danica and Milka for the girls. Sarah is not going for it. ;D Her first reaction upon hearing they are girls was "Oh no, two prom dresses, two weddings..." Then she quickly consoled herself with the fact she won't have to worry about football. But I quickly pointed out they can still be into racecars!

Compromise with the wife - Janet and Lynn - that gives you first three and not the last three ;D

Hi Russ, Not to completely hijack this thread, but what color red did you use on the NOVI? A Duplicolor can? I have emailed Lance to pre order a '56 NOVI, just waiting on his reply.
I didn't actually finish a INDY car kit this past year, but I will have several before 2009 is over! Mongo

Hey Mongo!!!!!!!!!!!
Sheriff Bart used just good old Dupi-Color red....not Orange Red...just Red. I primmed the car in scratch-filling primer...then flat white....then red. Three colors I hate to paint on a race car models....White, Yellow and Red....and it seems most race cars are those three colors. All have to primmed in flat white before you paint. Lance's Novi kit is a real winner!!!!
Best to you
Russ

Compromise with the wife - Janet and Lynn - that gives you first three and not the last three ;D Jordan If you're really sharp, you can sell Sarah on the Janet and Lynn thing by telling her that Janet Lynn was a US Olympic figure skater in the early 1970s. But you'll know the real reason for those names. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janet_Lynn
