This was to be a quick build from many parts until I received a nice gift from a good chap of a near complete Heller MS5 F2 car. I'm beginning to think I really don't know what a quick build is! I've had a resin Mini-Exotics Ford BDA engine for some time, but failed to find the right application for it. Now that Tony's business is defunct I'm SO glad I bought the little engine! I also bought his Lotus Twin-Cam resin/m etal engine at the same time. Anyway, I started with a nearly new MS-5 (of 1965) that, with a few minor alterations can be turned into a MS-7 (of 1968) which won the European F2 Championships. I expected to wip this thing out in nearly one day, duh, but have instead chose to model Henri Pescarolo's biplane F2! This is the first time I have been able to line up everything I needed to make one of the short time twin wing racers. Maybe with the nose wings its a tri-plane!.. So, you find this build mid-way with the monocoque done and the engine/trans in place... I ran outta Tamiya TS10, so I couldn't finish the cockpit surround. That will have to wait. Oh, notice the cut up Dunlop decal? I didn't have the right decal, so I cut up a 1/12 Matra decal to fit better in 1/24. I'm cheap or a low bucks effort you choose. Patrick PS, It will join the Matra family when done...

I prefer the term fiscally responsible instead of cheap. But when I look at all my kits that need built I have to wonder sometimes how responsible I really am. Oh well, the hobby keeps me off the streets. I love your project Patrick!

I always thought the double high wings were one of the coolest iterations of the aero experiments in F1 and similar formula.

I got to see Mike Hiss drive his biplane Lola T190 at Sears Point... Gotta love biplanes! Calvin, Ya, they're cute as a bug in a rug! Anyway, now I'm waiting for more Tamiya paint and rear brakes... It slipped outta my hands as I was finishing up for the evening and I nearly crushed it as I caught it before too much damage was done. I stayed up an additional 30 mins. fixing things. Looks like the velocity stacks need some adjustment. Patrick

Wow Patrick, you're giving the machine a run for his money. Looks good but the cockpit surround shape is a bit off. I might use the upper panel and glass blended together from a Heller BT33 instead. Awesome work!
