Anyone interested in an annual meeting of this group? I think it should be the day before the 500 in Indy when they run the old cars. Maybe I could even get the Speedway to provide a table to display some old models along with the old real cars. Take it from me, this is a GREAT event usually better than the race!
Great research time too.

Sounds like fun. I'm there every year anyway. They typically run the vintage cars on Carb day later in the day. Carb day is on Friday 2 days before the race.

It was usually on Carb day but last year was moved to Saturday for some reason.

It's a long haul from Virginia, but maybe, just maybe... It does sound like fun. I'm already making plans for Road America's July Vintage meet (featured historic marque- Ford GT40) and possibly Darlington's Historic meet- mainly 'cause Duane "racerbrown" promised to buy me a beer there. I'll go anywhere someone has a free beer waiting for me! Sandy

Count me in. I usually take that week off from work and spend the week in Indy. Catch carb day, community day and the collectors show at the fair grounds. Lance, Bill and Michael usually have a table there with stuff for sale. Plus I usually get to spend a little time hanging out with other friends I have made over the years.

We could eat dinner at Union Jacks the racer bar/resturant and I'm sure Bob Clindinst would join us. I could also arrange a visit to Racecar Restorations. He (Walter Goodwin)always has several Indycars in progress. My son works for PBR in Chicago so he'll provide the beer!

I go to the race every year, so count me in. I'll just have to leave a day early but this could really be great to put faces with the names.

The only drawback for me is the drive. I just can't go that far anymore without some company! LOL!! I went through Indy in Sept. on the way to the Springfield race and it took forever to get there........ and I was riding in the hauler.

Problem is, do you have ANY idea what size pants they include ith a 58-60 jacket?? The front AND rear pockets would be touching when they are taken up. I'm 16-18 inches different on pants size (I do need to lose a few pounds, though) Oh, yeah, let me know if you want to stop in NC on your way up I-95! Mongo
