Just another M23 build that I've been working on....since I got a new can of Tamiya fluorescent red, I'e been trying to use it up as fast as possible before it goes dull. This is just going to be a boring box stock WIP - not no Art Laski mega-award-winning-crush-the-competition-build!

WOW, That looks really sharp. Great job so far. Makes me want to smoke a cigarette. Just kidding no it doesn't. Stupid a__ politicians. Some times I wish they would tell the do gooders to go home and wine on their own time. I miss seeing the tobacco sponsored cars. Great looking build looking forward to seeing more.

Very nice. I took some pictures of the Jochen Moss 1977 M23 when they fired it up at Griots Garage in Tacoma last December. More photos here: Griots Photos

Calvin,
For some reason I missed this thread when you first started it, but I got a kick out of how you referenced me at the beginning! The funny thing is, I just bought this kit at the Tamiya booth at the Grand Prix in Long Beach on Sunday, and I want to build it just like you did- completely box stock.
So, because you have already paved the way, I need to figure out what else I need to get where you are. I think I know that I need the gold stripes from Indycals, and some tire decals. Did you use Indycals for those here?
About the "fill-ins", did you create those, and if so, do you offer them? How about the one on the cowl? That one seems to be more than just Black.
Thanks for your help in advance, Calvin!

LOL! Im glad you liked my thread....I forgot how I acted on this. LOL
The decals I used were those secret Hong Kong ones that are all censored out on ebay.
I dont have any fill-ins for this. I do add some fill-ins with my early season High Airbox I sell, that the smoking cowboy gives me. Besides that I only sell Indycar fill-ins.....there is so many Hong Kong decal sheets for this kit that I never bothered calling the smoking cowboy up to print some off for me.
But I did use Indycals goodyears

Do not sell yourself short referring to this as just a box stock build. Looks pretty dang good to me. Tamiya repopped this not too long ago. The orange box version. They can be difficult to acquire and the sep PE is drying up. A set of rain tires from IconAutomotives is the cat's meow for this kit. Of course one must source the rest of the sponsor markings, the TABU are some of the best. Really would have liked to have caught a build thread of your work. Looking forward to your next project. Thank you, Rick. I was a little sarcastic on this post. So many people have built this kit that its almost completely old news. But I really enjoyed it and happy with the result.

Thank you, Rick. I was a little sarcastic on this post. So many people have built this kit that its almost completely old news. But I really enjoyed it and happy with the result. No sarcasm took......you can never have too many of anything. All build in their own way and interpretation,of their minds eye. I have see three and four of the same thing built at a show, and not a one was the exact same. Besides, one can never have enough M23's around. And if this is being sarcastic, then show me some more sarcasm my friend. Heck I have the 1/12th and 1/20th version of this iconic racer. Rick 8)
