I was at a party with a member of this board, that I have known for year and he mentioned Open Wheel Racing. Thought I would drop by and join.
I have been building models seriously for about 20 years and off and on for 60. I like race cars of almost every ilk, but F1 is my favorite followed by endurance(Le Mans) racers and World rally. Oddly, living in SoCal I am not a real fan of Hot Rods. I also like building aircraft having spent some time in the Air Force as a pilot. I am now retired so I have a little more time to build and am trying to put it to good use.

Patrick Patrick- I have heard that you are one of the great builders on this site. I have just picked up a couple of the last MFH Ferraris( '68 312 and a 156 shark nose) and can't wait to get going on them. For now I have two nonrelated models on the bench that are occupying my time. Until they get done, I will be lurking about watching all of these builds with interest. Pete

Pete, don't be afraid to chime in whenever you are lurking. Can't wait to see the MFH Ferrari's getting built. I think the 312 is a beautiful car!

I've never been shy but I like to get a feel for people before I get to ambitious. I really want to build the Ferrari and I have a AAR eagle on order from MFH but the project I have will be a while finishing as they are really quite complex. A ton of photo etched and white metal castings. It has taken me almost 5 months to do the engine.

Welcome, Pete! Glad to see you over on this board. I've been hanging out over here quite a bit the last few years, even though I've only completed a few Indy Cars so far. But they are my passion, so seeing the great work going on here is inspirational, and these guys are a great group to converse with and get to know. Knowing you and your work, I look forward to seeing what you can do with those F1 cars!
