I was given the Monogram Valvoline March Chevy Indy Car as a Xmas gift. In 1988 Emerson Fittipaldi also ran a March Chevy and placed 2nd. I would like to try and build Emmo’s car but in doing some research, I find two different photos of the car. www.rbigp.com/indy500/galleries/show/5677-1988-indianapolis-500/They differ in the way the engine cover has the swept “winglets” in front of the rear wheels. These also differ from the way the Valvoline model looks. Does anyone know which is correct or have additional photos? I dug out my old 1988 program and the lineup page shows photo of the car not having winglets. Thanks in advance.

No winglets on Emmo's 88 March. IMS has a picture of his '89 winner in the wrong folder which is misleading you. You can tell it's from '89 because of the fresh pavement.

YouTube usually has the full 500 (though sometimes broken into parts) and that's usually a good way to research. I'd look it up in my Hungness yearbook if I could get to it (I can't - sorry). If you ask nice, maybe someone else can look it up to see if they had Emmo race day photos As far as decals, you are best off trying to ask Michael at IndyCals. He's got an '89 Emmo set, silkscreened day glo numbers (Emmo's '89 numbers should work for '88), 88 inspection stickers on other sets, and can tell you how to get the rest of the markings he can't supply (smokes logos).
