Got a little work done on my Etzel Watson. Have the tires and wheels cleaned up, along with the seat. I'm not sure of the "sit" on the seat yet, so I'm still tweaking that. I notched the tail per the instructions and polished the rear nerf bar just to see what kind of finish I could get. The exhaust pipe in this kit has a big gouge running lengthwise along the top, so I fabricated a new one with some aluminum tubing (upper pipe in photo). According to the instructions, the K-P Special has a squared off exhaust tip rather than the slash-cut one used on Ward's car. So that's what I did. The bracket is a larger slice of tubing with some steel wire for the mounting post. All of it is "polish-able," and I will when the time comes. Still have some little mold imperfections to fix. This was kind of a "second." There was a void in the little scoop at the top rear edge of the hood, so I had to fill that hole. Also had a couple of other little repairs to make. Boy, I'm flying blind on this one. I was reading about the "birdcages" and the rear axle, and I'm going to have to do a LOT of test fitting to make sure I understand how that goes together. This is FUN! Terry

So YOU'RE the one that out-bid me on that! I'll find one someday!

Looks good - keep it up! Don't be afraid to take your time and ask questions here if necessary.

Terry....
Having built a few of these...Test fitting is the key with the "bircage"....Once you get one done, the other is easy. Chris did many neat thins making this kit. It's one of my favorites. If you have the patients to build an AMT Watson, this is a piece of cake.
One word of warning though....If you decide to build the 1959 Winner....read, and re-read the decal instructions. They are a bit tricky, but it comes out perfect if you just take your time. I have built three of those...One for a friend, one for Rodger Ward and one for myself. It's a great looking Watson! Have fun!
I'm going to try to do Foyt's 61 Winner from this kit, or from DrDave's conversion kit
Best to you

Well, I am the *third* (and maybe *last*) bidder you beat, Terry! LOL!! It will look great, and I *might* end up with one of Chris' kits, sooner or later....... Mongo
