Hiya Russ, 'O Grand Sage of all things Watson, can you help this lowly modeler out? I'm starting out on a '59-62 Jorgensen Watson roadster. Nice kit and I'm trying to decide what choices I've got as for whose car to build. The Jorgensen kit nose appears- according to your article in MRRN - to be correct for a later version like around '62. The earlier cars from '59-60 seem to have a taller (thicker) nose. Am I seeing this right? Many thanks, Sandy

Hi ya Sandy!!
I'll try my best to help you out on this one. The 1959 ans 60 winners were build by A.J. Watson himself.....The 1961 car was built by Floyd Trevis off of Watson's "plans".....Sachs car was built by Fat Boy Ewing. Watson built Ward's 1962 winner, and both the 1963 "Old Calhoun" and Foyt's 64 winner, with modifications done by Eddie Kuzma before the 1964 Season for George Bignotti.
So, I checked the Bible, Bob Clidinst's drawings....and that is what you should do as well. Check Bob's drawings. The noses do seem different from car to car in photos as well. Watson did his body work off of drawings on his garage floor and were build to meet the car he was working on. No Plans, just drawings on his shop floor. Bob's drawings are right off the car. Pick your year, and go for it!!!
Best to you
Russ
