I just finished this kit, the Ebbro Lotus 49 built to replicate Jim Clark's last F1 win in the 1968 South African GP. The decals are from IndyCals, which are brilliant by the way, the Green is Tamiya TS-43 Racing Green and TS-16 Yellow for the stripe. I used the template provided by IndyCals to paint the stripe and it went on without a problem at all. If you are hesitant about painting it, don't be! With the kit decal or the template it is straightforward. Don't deprive yourself of a BRG/Yellow Lotus! It is a straight out of the box build except that I added plug wires. This was simply a nice build. The 1968 South African GP was the end of an era, with Gold Leaf signed as a sponsor this was the last appearance of a Green and Yellow works Lotus. More importantly this was Jim Clark's last win and last GP as he would die in a Formula Two race at Hockenheim on April 6, 1968. By the time the Spanish GP ran, it felt as if everything had changed. Clark was expected to take the Lotus 49 to the World Championship, which wasn't to be. Lotus won, but with Graham Hill as the World Champion behind the wheel as the team leader. Hill put the team on his shoulders and led them to triumph after unspeakable tragedy. This is an important car in the history of Formula One and I hope I did it justice. Let me know what you think!

That's quite a history lesson on this car, I thank you for that. Given the historical significance I think I'll build mine the same way. Great job on yours.
