I was walking vendor aisles at a model car show on Saturday talking with a friend from the NASCAR modeling world. He pointed at a '63 Watson kit on a vendor's table and said, "I'd really love to build a roadster one day." My comment was he didn't need to pay the $80 or so for the original issue or $85 for the reissue box. The vendor obviously focused on older boxed kits which he marked up 2x, 3x, 4x or more then offered everything for 50% off so you thought you were getting a bargain. Yes, $80 and $85 were after the 1/2 off! Anyways, I told him that he could get the donor for a lot cheaper on eBay or here. Plus, if comes here, we have great guys willing to help with advise, etc. So, for the build, the AMT/MPC kit is a must. Then there are these optional aftermarket pieces for improved accuracy: Calvin's nose/windscreen - sites.google.com/site/classicracingresins/customization/1963-old-calhoun-update-kitIndycals Decals - indycals.net/decals/indy/63willardbattery.htmlIndycals Tires - indycals.net/parts/indyparts/63watsonlotustires.htmlKit tires vs IndyCals Any other aftermarket parts/pieces to let him know about? What about paint recommendations? He's a spray can guy if that helps. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jordan

I used Testors in a can candy apple red, candy apple blue, and pearlescent pearl and I like how it turned out. Good luck, Jim

Tamiya TS-50 Mica Blue or TS-44 Brill blue. This is paint colors suggested to me from Chapparal2k and Michael at Indy Cals. The TS-50 seems to be a little bit darker than TS-44. Theirs plenty of these on E-Bay. Good Luck
