I think this kit sets the record from longest time-span from start to finish. I don't know exactly what that span is, but it is at least 10 years. I was never impressed with this kit - particularly the pale kit decals. I tried doing my own decals over the years, but was never satisfied, until I finally had the yellow screen printed - I was finally able to finish the build and I will finally be offering decals for the yellow-striped version of the Lotus 25. BTW, for those who don't know, the yellow stripe originated with Clarks 1963 Indy car, the Lotus 29. Supposedly Chapman added the yellow stripe so as to not have a totally green car. The stripe made it's F1 debut about a month later at the 1963 British Grand Prix and was used at every F1 race through South Africa 1968.

Cool! You started on this before I ever became a model builder! Interesting stuff.....you sure have become a real Lotus F1 expert here lately.....

Beautiful work and decals. I didn't realize the yellow stripe started at Indy, good history lesson, thanks.

Excellent Michael. I wish this kit was a 1/24 and not 1/20.

Excellent Michael. I wish this kit was a 1/24 and not 1/20. Check with Michael, I know a lot of his offerings are in various scales. He might just have these in 1/24, too. Then you can look for another Hong Kong toy project!! Jordan
