Acquisition of a couple Tamiya 1/20 Lola T93/00 Indycars from eBay pretty cheap has the gears turning in my head. Mike's mention of him potentially doing decals for Bobby Rahal's MGD Lola reminded me I already had a set of decals in my stash for a Rahal MGD car from the 1997 IPMS Nationals decal sheet to utilize with the Tamiya kit. The instructions say the particular marking configuration printed never raced like that, but it appears I can at least modify the markings to be more accurate to a couple pictures I've seen of one of his cars. Only minor bit is Rahal drove a Chevy Ilmore powered machine in 1993 and the Tamiya kit is Ford powered.
Now I know I can always build this kit (the road course version) as a curbside with the cover on for all time, but I am a little tempted to try my bodging skills and see if I can make the top of the engine look like a Chevy Ilmore 265C to show if I take the cover off. Only stumbling block is while I have found plenty of references on the 265A, I've found practically nothing on the 265C. Any references out there? Could I theoretically do some shape work to make such an engine resemble one of the 1/24 or 1/25 Chevy engines and be good enough?
Secondly, anyone perhaps already do a resin Ilmore engine that can be drop fitted into the Tamiya Lola?

indycals.net/parts/indyparts/tamiyalolaconversion.htmlIncludes new Chevy style heads and plenum. Should make a convincing conversion without changing the block, etc. Michael did these via 3D printing and then having them copied in resin to sell which keeps their development cost as small as possible. Thanks Jordan. Very cool! I see they are out of stock right now though, so anyone know when Lance might be offering a restock?
