hello, I have been a fan of indy for many years. This year will be my 42nd race. I worked for Grant King from 1974 - 1982 and was on the pit crew for Tom Sneva, Sheldon Kinser, Gary Bettenhausen, Jim Mc Elreath, John Martin, Roger Mears and Buddy Lazier and Ed Pimm with Gary Trout Motorsports
I also design all the Carousel One Indy cars.

Welcome. Working with Tom Sneva must have been fun!! I was always a big fan of his. I remember John Martin's "Indy on a Shoestring Team", his term, not mine. Great bunch here, full of fun and passion for all things Indy. You and Old Calhoun should have a great time together as he's somewhat of an Indy Insider too.

Welcome! 2009 will be my 38th consecutive Indianapolis 500. I remember all those you mentioned well. Thank you for your efforts on the Carousel 1 cars. I enjoy each one and the all bring me fond memories of the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

I do all the research, photos and measurements then translate into approx 150 part drawings. All 4 views done the old fashion way on paper. I do not do the graphics.
Usually do the research at the Speedway but the latest 84 Penske was done from the car in the Penske museum in Phoenix. I have also have done work for Revell/Monogram on their slot cars.

Welcome Professor! Bet you're glad to get off that island, altho you probably miss Ginger & Mary Ann - LOL! Were you at Syracuse when Sheldon won the USAC Dirt Car race? I made it to all of those races at the Moody Mile and they were some of the best races I've ever seen. Also was very impressed with the Grant King dirt modifieds, wish I could find one of those to restore! This is a great place for Indy info and inspiration.

I can not comment on new products until announced but since 30 of 33 cars in the 1984 race were the same chassis, other versions are a good bet. There will also be another 70's Eagle this spring, a car you don't, if ever see in model form.
p.s. I prefer Ginger, bigger turbos!!!!
