Do you suspect conspiracy? Does your arm hurt? Is your engine running hot? Clint's spin looked very fake to me!

I think the manufactured excitement of "The Chase" is what drives teams to take the risk of cheating on their fellow competitors. A playoff system in a racing series is ridiculous to say the least. They even the top ten to within 15 points of each other with 10 races left. False excitement, all the way.
I've decided that I am done with NASCAR for the last 10 races of the year. And, yes the guy spun intentionally to help his team mate make the silly chase. Garbage racing!

I guess it's time to be "Mr Unpopular" again. I am NOT a NASCAR fan, for many reasons. It has been several years since I have watched an entire NASCAR race, however to the best of my knowledge NASCAR has not seen fit to install large asphalt mounds on any straights, so that we can see flying cars. They have not gone to restarts that result in cars going 3 and 4 wide into a hairpin corner so that we can see the track plugged time after time. They have not seen fit to install a "push to block" button on the cars, etc. Some are upset that TK might be going to NASCAR next year, well why not, it is a steady paycheck, and the team gets to worry about sponsorship, all he has to do is drive, which is good because IMO the talent there is much deeper that in Indycar. With the exception of Tony Stewart the guys, and women that have left Indycar and gone NASCAR have found it a real tough transition. Think about how many Indycar drivers who get paid by the team, and don't have to bring money. I don't think you would need more than 2 hands, most likely 1 would do it. Don't try to blame it on "the split" this has been going on for a long time, it's just getting worse. Cookiecutter cars and gimmick after gimmick. Some of the reasons that I love what open wheel racing was, and hate what it has become. Take Care Craig

I don't mind saying it... I love NASCAR. I watched the Mich race and it was a good one. JJ finshed way in the back and that putz BK missed the Chase. That being said, I think the "chase" is stupid on so many levels.

I enjoy watching NASCAR when I can. When I fell in love with racing I was obsessed with watching racing whenever I could so having a series on every virtually weekend appealed to my addictive personality. Never have liked the playoff/Chase personally but I do still enjoy the series.
That said, what appears to be gross manipulation of outcome on Saturday by MWR via the spin and then pitting the other two cars not on the points bubble right before the finish is appalling. I would love to see Ty Norris, Michael Waltrip, and other key MWR personnel banned from any NASCAR track for the rest of 2013 and all of 2014... if not longer. I say kick the #56 out of the Chase and let both the #39 and #24 in it to make it a 13 car fight for the Cup.
Ryan Newman had that Richmond won fair and square. His the last few passes for position were on the outside and totally clean - WHAT A RACER!! (and I'm not a big RN fan) One of my Penske guys made it into the Chase via this nonsense but honestly, I find this whole thing shameful. Makes me glad I'm a proud IndyCar guy first, even on NASCAR forums.

Just a quick post with my admin hat on:
This discussion is fine. Know that there are all kinds here - what you love and hate is going to be like others and totally opposite of some. Do not state your opinions as facts and respect other people's opinions even if they are different and the discussion can continue. That said, this isn't a NASCAR discussion forum so if this goes south, I have no issue with me or another moderator deleting the whole thing at the first sign of trouble.

I find the whole thing pretty funny - I just cant believe MWR thought they could pull that off without millions noticing! LOL
It will be interesting to see what happens as the days go on.

The ironic part is that of all the drivers, Truex is the only one that didn't do anything wrong. Now, what about Edwards jumping the last restart?
Looks like it's about time NASCAR takes a look at team orders...

I don't think the penalties were enough in some regards but at least NASCAR did something. Better than letting it all go away. The most guilty did not get enough of a penalty but I think some other drivers will dish some out as the season progresses.
