OK i have not done much in the Open Wheel style for awhile, so i shall post one i did in the mid 90's and try to hide the areas where it has yellowed etc. This car is well travelled as it has been packed and gone to Denmark & then back to Australia. It is not 100% accurate, i did not update the car to resemble the 89 version. AMT kit, OOB with the exception of the decals which came from Oval Track Hobbies i think? I have the Skoal decals from them as well for Sneva's car as well. Cheers, Shayne

Was this car a Penske customer car run by Patrick? Was Emmo's car an 88 or was it an 89? I'm asking because I have this kit and if all I have to do is get another to do Emmo's car that would be a nice addition to my winners collection.

It was a 1989 PC-18. The entrant was Patrick Racing. Al Unser Sr. drove the #25 M@r1b0r0 PC-18 enteref by Penske Racing.

I thought it was an 89. I think this was the only time Roger ever sold a current model Penske to a competitor IIRC. Thanks. Would there be any noticable changes to the PC-18 versus the 17?

Yes there are various cues that make a PC18 different from the PC17 (which of course is the AMT kit) but for most the PC17 is close enough. We will have to go over the differences in another thread!

Actually happened a few times - I should probably research it before doing this but I will wing it for now and apologize later - lol. I know Tony Bettenhausen's team ran a current Penske at least one year like maybe 1996 when the chassis rules changed dramatically. Emmo's final season with Carl Hogan's Penske satellite team ran a current Penske. Jordan

You are certainly on the money there Jordan with the two above, don't forget that Hogan's team also ran a car for Magnussen as well. I like the plain red look of Emmo's car that year. Jordan

Thanks guys for the info. Jordan, no need to apologize I wouldn't think as you are the "all things Penske" guy in my book.
