He never belonged in NASCAR in the first place. I think it would be a good thing to have him back in open wheel racing

I hope he comes to IndyCar, if for nothing else than to have some more racing fans being exposed to Indy racing. JPM and Andretti though - who'd have thunk'd this would ever happen back in '99!! Will be interesting how he takes to the DW12, will it be '99 all over again or '07??

I went to the USGP every year it was at IMS and if there is one thing I can do without, it is Columbian fans. They were rude, obnoxious, and insulting, and I wasn't the only on who felt this way. I also fail to see why the series is helped by a driver who, in many ways, has run himself out of options. News like this shows up every year and it helps to foster the idea the Indycars are a back-up plan, not a destination. Given the complete lack of focus or direction by the series, it is par for the course. Actually, I've convinced myself that I hope JPM is in the series next year. That way, when there is no substantive change in attendance, TV ratings, or press buzz, we can look for the next magic bullet to save this dying series. Sorry for the negativity, but I just don't see a whole lot of positive anywhere around this story.

Though I too am cynical with the series, I don't see how JPM can hurt Indycar. He was always exciting to watch. I am more concerned about Indycar staying on NBC now that NASCRAP is on their docket. Every other series featured at NBC was invited except Indycar---they were an inheritance. Obnoxious or not, I will accept crazy Columbians either at venues or watching a TV. Beggars can't be too choosy.
