Coming soon! Since there is so much interest in the AMT Lotus 29 replacement nose so doing the Old Calhoun nose for the AMT kit is a no brainier. I just need to do some clean up work, and I'll dip in rubber..... as most know the AMT kit nose sucks but here soon no one will have to settle for that!

Looking good. Calvin. While you are at it, why not do a standard nose for that kit. Many possible cars.

When I get them cast up I will have a huge inventory so that means they will always be available. We are shooting for mid September to have these parts available.

Its getting there..... I still think I need to make the flares more aggressive looking....mine still look a little blah..... One thing about the 1963 Old Calhoun nose is its fine pointed nose which I'm making sure looks right on this kit nose.

Do you have a good head on look at the suspension flares? The grooves for the intake need to start further up on the nose but it looks really sharp Calvin. You are definitely getting there.

Since I had nothing better to do… well actually I did but I didn't feel like doing it, I looked at the nose of the #98 car and I think that maybe the little side fairings on the 1963 car (ignoring the IMS museum car) have the outside tips higher then the where it connects to the body, angling up from the inside to the outside?? I also wonder if the back edge of the top isn't angled to the back from the inside to the outside (unlike the IMS museum car). It is really hard for me to tell but either way I did attach a montage of photos I made from a video of the car pulling into victory lane. If you zoom in it gives a nice 90 degree rotation of the nose that might help. Attachments:

I too em ignoring the flarings on the IMS museum car because I believe it still has the 1964 flares on it. I still think my flarings are still too bulky....it still doesn't have that FAST look yet...

Your latest pics show that you are so close now! The only thing that I might add is in the attached pic I don't think the curves I highlighted in red exist, I think it should be straight as shown by the green lines. That's what I see anyway… I hope I'm helping, I don't want to seem as if I'm being overly critical. Attachments:

No, your not overly critical....I agree that it needs to be straightened up just like what your green lines show. Remember, I dont worry about hurt feelings - I worry about having good looking models....

Does it look faster now? I think so.... But I feel it can still use some more tweaking... Makes the kit nose look horrible! and absolutely disgusting!

The machine does it again, fantastic work Calvin, you never cease to amaze. I admire the roadsters, I am a rear engined Indy car fan, but I can really appreciate the level of detail you have accomplished with this cars nose. Kinda wish a had a model right now to make the '63 winner

That was some amazing service! I received my nose and windscreen today! The pictures do not do the nose justice. In person the nose looks even better and totally correct. The windscreen will be a great addition too, along with the windscreen for the 68 Turbo Lotus. You're my hero Calvin, thank you, very much!

I received my nose yesterday and it looks great. What is the correct color for the pearl white? I was thinking TS45 pearl white over white primer?

Getting closer to painting and I’m not sure about the colors.
What’s the correct blue and is TS-8 Italian Red the correct red?
