I just joined and look forward to many great discussions here. Been building models for at least fifty years. Love the '50s and '60s open wheel era. I have some of all the well known resin casters. Really hated to see Chris Etzel drop out of the ranks of active casters. I'm like most and have probably triple the number of unbuilts that I have time left on earth to finish. I've gone through and still maintain an interest in the early stock car years, but Indy was my first love. Have little to no interest in current day open wheel or stock car activity. Last saw an Indy 500 in '92.
I have one goal and that is to get over to IMS sometime this year or next so I can claim participation in events at the track in seven decades! Saw my first 500 in 1949.
For many years I was a photographer and writer for several publications most notably Stock Car Racing Magazine back in the '70s. Also worked for the ASA stock car circuit in the '70s and '80s with 1990 my last season. I also did much college football and basketball photography from 1969 through 2002 or 3.
Good to see there is a spell checker on messages. All boards should have that feature.
