Hello Everyone
By the way who said I was making this a resin kit? Just joking!! I hope to have something around Christmas or a little after. As far as decals I will probably go with Viceroy and Boraxo first. I will make this kit to have a removable engine cover to see a lot of suspension and engine detail. Plus for different air scoop configurations. The car is pretty much limitless on what you can do to it. Thanks Kevin K.

Ah...now I don't have to finish that body work! It IS about time someone has done one of these cars. Limitless...to say the least! I'll take a Hagar Slacks David Hobbs car...oh, you didn't mention that car. Well, how about a Mark Donohue Penske T332? Or maybe...? Let me know if I can be of help!

Hi Guys Here is a quick update on the Lola F-5000 kit. I am trying to substitute some of the white metal. I will be using 3/64th styrene rod cut to length for most of the front and rear suspension. The reason white metal cost me more and will cost you more so I want to try and keep the kit at a fair price. Plus, the styrene rod is much easier to use. I am still in need of some good close up photos of the fuel injection and manifold areas. Everything else is coming together very well and Indycals will be doing the decals to be purchased through him. Any help with be greatly appreciated. Thanks Kevin K.

Hi Guys To go where few have modeled before, beyond the blueprint. Here is a quick update on the Lola project; everything is coming along very smoothly. I added the front nose cone today. Bring on the Milliput. I will keep you posted. Thanks Kevin K.

Kevin, You know I don't criticize...that said, i believe there should be a hole in the front suspension shock outriggers. I saw this on many of the 332's chassis photos. Also, the engine was not a stressed member of the chassis which means there were bracing rods from the chassis monocoque proper and what looks to me like the bell housing and the transaxel. Again, I offer this as only an observation and not to be nit picky. I'm looking forward to your model and I plan on finishing my chassis. I add my chassis photos as a suggestion... As you can see my solution to the engine bracing was incorrect and is going to be changed now that I have resin correct Hewland transaxel. Patrick

Hi Guys
To answer a couple of questions on the Lola. Yes there was an oval hole in the top shock mount of the actual car. I am assuming to add stiffness to the unit. I chose not to model this feature simply because it will not be seen because of the overlapping body work. Also the way I have the engine installation planned, I am using two small post protruding from the rear of the chassis that the engine assembly will slide on to. This is a very small detail that will not be very noticeable but what it does do is aligned the engine perfectly straight to the rear of the chassis. Upon measuring the suspension rods you must have the engine/chassis perfectly symmetrically or other parts will simply not line up correctly. Kind of a domino effect. When producing such as the Lola a few small compromises must be made so that the end product will be correct. Keep the critiquing coming, its always good to have another set of eyes when building. Thanks Kevin K.

Thanks for the info Kevin. Some of those thing you say only come from the experience of producing a kit! The domino effect has hit me several times and I still forget to take it into account! I was really stumped at doing the body so show how you do its progress if that's appropriate.

Hi Everyone Here are a few progress shots of the Lola T-332, half styrene and half milliput. I will send some more photos as work progresses. Also, if any of you are interested in Formula 5000 tires and rims? I am making them new for this kit and wanted to see if anyone is interested in purchasing them for their projects, you may be currently working on. I will send some photos tomorrow. Let me know. Thanks Kevin K.

Moderator, would it be possible to consolidate all of Kevin’s updates on his Lola T-332 into one thread? Kevin, I’m really interested in this build, but I am confused on one thing. Is this a one off for yourself or are you going to offer the Lola as a kit? If so I’m interested.
