Hi to all. I found the site a few weeks ago and have been reading it for the past couple of weeks and figured I'd jump on. I wish I'd found this site sooner. I'm just glad to have found the site, it's quite a wealth of information. I've always been intrigued by racing cars in general and even more so Indy Cars. Growing up I raced quarter midgets as a kid and my idols were the Indy car drivers. Nascar wasn't as big at that time. I now enjoy modeling racing cars and other subjects such as 1/72 aircraft. Once I get the hang of the site, I'll try to post some pictures. I would also be intrested to know if there is any place where I can purchase DVDs of Indy Car races. I know there are some short programs of the races on DVD, but I'm looking for the whole race. I have most of the Indy car races from 80s to present on VHS, but I'm hoping to find DVDs. I would also be interested in any indy races not only the 500s. Any help is greatly appreciated. Happy to be a member, Jim

Hi Jim!
Welcome aborad......Ever hear of Doak Ewing and Rare Sports Films? He has old 500 films, restored the color and put some on DVD's. He quality is first rate and he sells them very reasonable prices.....good stuff and I use them for reference material mostly....The 1956 Film by Dynamic has a guy singing and it's really bad except for the film of the race.
The old AMT McLaren and Eagle do have some good points....If you want a really good Eagle, check out Bill Jorgensen's conversion kit. Again, welcome aboard!
Best to you
Russ

Hello! I've built many a 1/72 scale aircraft too, mostly WWI. But it's probably been several years now since I've started one, these darn race cars take what little free time I have anymore!

Welcome to the board! Any questions you may have will probably be answered here, pretty quickly. There are several really knowledgeable members here. In the early '70s I built many aircraft, a lot in 1/72nd scale, and attended several IPMS contests. Everything now is race cars! Mongo
