Relaxation - creativity - amusement
Relaxation: Enjoy sitting with the radio on or music in the background working without a care in the world
Creativity - Bring to "life" something from my imagination - take for example the Humble Museum
Amusement - Create a problem in my mind (again, refer to the Humble Museum) and then enjoy solving the problem and finding it was easier that I thought or expected (most of the time)

Me too! But the main reason for me is....... ...well let me put it this way...... early in life I realized everything needs a good balance - well since I'm so COOL, I realized I was too cool and needed to calm it down by doing nerdy modeling building......and now I have a balance in life! A little Cool and a bit of nerd.....The chicks love it!

I build different examples of cars to stand out from everyone else and be different. Example...if I build a Ferrari 156/61 "Shark Nose" it will be not red, but yellow! If I build an Indy car from 1964 it won't be a Lotus 29, but a Brabham BT12! I enjoy what everyone else does, but I just have to be different.
Simply, building models is a sense of accomplishment that satisfies a need within me to "complete" things that I encounter in my life.
Calvin, you DO come up with some interesting questions...I'm glad you're around to make us think!

I love to work with my hands and modeling provides this. It's also relaxing (see scran's comment) I find it also gives me a better understanding of how the real cars are engineered. Michael, how's that chick thing working out for you?

Just love building. I don't collect nor do I have that desire. Mostly love doing things that no one else has done or attempted and love challenges. Stu

I’ve always enjoyed building models since I was kid, there’s just something about opening a box full of little pieces and making a finished model. The older I get the more I enjoy looking at my models and letting them take me back to that years Indy 500. Guess that’s way I enjoy building cars from the 80’s & 90’s.

I build to relax at the end of a stressful day or week. To remember when the cars I build were new and state of the art racers and were driven by men who to a little kid, were larger then life hero's. And to be creative. I can't draw, play an instrument or carry a tune, so I build models to express my creativity.

I build models because I can't afford the real cars... getting into doing die-cast was by accident..or requests..
