I picked up a 1/12 Tamiya Lotus 72D partially built. I got a really good deal on it and I've gone through it and it is complete. The decals were, of course, no good, so I'll be using Michaels 72D Lucky Strike decals. This is how it looked when I got it:  I've already stripped the paint and decals and rebuilding will begin soon. |

I think that the Lucky Strike car was driven by Sud Afrikan Dave Carlton wasn't it? It will look great in 1/12!

Looks good, Mark! I'm watching with interest. I've got a partially-started glue bomb version of this kit myself. I was the glue bomber at around age 11 or 12.

Getting closer. I should have this done in a couple of days. I thought the kit was complete and I did go through it, but in the end there turned out that there were a few parts missing. A keen eye will notice that the car doesn't have any rear shocks... one of the things missing was the r/r shock. I figure none is better then just one. Also missing was part of the rear wing mount, but I can scratch that. I left the engine unglued so I can remove it in the event I find another glue bomb so I can add the missing parts.  |

Yeah, its very pleasing to the eye!
You would never know it was a glue bomb!
Its kinda like saving a dog from the shelter you saved a model from being a glue bomb for the rest of its life.
