A little project i did a couple years ago, i'm not nearly as skilled as most on here but i haven't seen this done yet. It's a out of the box AMT March with a AMT indy chevy.

Thanks! It's funny how the camera brings out all the little imperfections that i neve noticed looking at it on the shelf for the last two years.

I love the 1988 Valvoline March, the experts said the 1988 March was un-competitive for that year buy Little Al sure didn't show it! He won a lot!
I like your build!

It's still hard for me to picture Little Al in any car other than the Valvoline cars. Nice job on this one.

It is an interesting car. Galles brought Allan Mertens on board, who designed this car. And in a lot of ways, this car shows the origins of the Galmer chassis from '92.
I wouldn't go so far as to say Lil Al's performance proves the worth of this chassis design, if just for the fact that Galles had lots of updates from March/Mertens that other teams did not. I saw a line in Open Wheel magazine from '88 stating that this particular car had Lola parts on it! You had Shierson abandon the car at Indy, Patrick right after, and Kraco later on.

There's always more to the story than just looking at the stats.

Thanks! It's funny how the camera brings out all the little imperfections that i neve noticed looking at it on the shelf for the last two years. I have noticed that, too. The added light and magnification really bring out the details. When you are the builder, you seem to notice the flaws Most of us are too hard on ourselves anyways. You did a good job on it. Nice to see a March built, it really is amazing to see how quickly March fell from grace. Sad they never came back either.... Jordan

Thanks for the kind responses everyone, funny you should mention the Lola parts as I believe i put a 88 lola rear wing on this build because it more closely matched what was in the picure i was using for reference.

I honestly can't remember, this was done a couple yers ago. I remember looking for midnight blue at the time but it was no where to be found so i used whatever was the closest match i could find to that.

True-Match paint had a Valvoline blue in a can. When I built mine back in 1989 I used Trstits Blue Angeks Blue.
