I feel bad for JR. I'm actually not surprised......you just cant make that many mistakes in pro racing. The other bad part is last Sunday they really had that car on the edge! So its a tough deal.

Not suprised, after the deals with Mera, and Weldon nothing Panther does is unexpected. I hope Briscoe has better luck. Take Care Craig

Very surprising. I thought they gave Dan the heave ho way to early also. Sounds like to me they can't make up there minds. May be that is what is wrong with the team and why they have the troubles they do. It will be interesting to see how Ryan does. Why did they not keep Dan on board? never could figure that one out. May be they wanted an American to represent the Guard. I do not know. I thought Dan did a heck of a job with the troops and the team. Thats racing.

I really expected more out of JR than he has delivered so I understand where Panther is at right now. I guess they are trying something like the SF QB swap that worked so well for their co-owner Harbaugh this year.
That said, I do hate to see another American out of a ride though. Still hoping DRR can find enough sponsorship to keep the #22 afloat.

I have two heartfelt comments. First, Panther gave Dan the "heave ho" because he was not being paid what was agreed. Dan was represented at the time by the same firm as Michael Schumacher. A private jet landed in Indy and subsequently left with his payment in hand. That sealed the eventual divorce between Panther and Wheldon.
As for JR, certainly he did not show well early on this year, no excuses. That said, the incident at Indy was NOT his doing. Kimball should not have been permitted to go as slowly as he was that high in the corners as JR closed on him. I hold the series responsible for that.
Secondly, JR was not told about Kimball's presence, only that "Wheldon is coming hard". He had to make a split second decision and it bit him. Although he did cross the finish line, and we can debate this forever, it was several seconds before the yellow came on and only after Wheldon passed him. Look closely at the video and see for yourself. Slowest yellow in history.
The 2013 crash at Indy was, by all accounts, attributed to an agressive set up. The team went for broke and lost. IMO, Hildebrand is the scapegoat.

That team is a mystery to me. They seem to have talent across the board, but there seems to be a certain air of uncertainty around the organization. Always something that just isn't quite right. That's just this race fan's opinion, maybe some of you guys with more inside info can answer to that.

I would make sure they were bonded so I was sure I got paid!

Panther = cheap. Don't care for the way they treated Hildebrand one bit. From what I recall about DW' s situation, he was forced to sue Panther for back pay which he was due. Hildebrand seemed to be a consistent, competitive driver. Being thrown under the bus like this after the way he handled himself two years ago is pretty tasteless.

Barnes is widely known as one of the biggest douchebags in the paddock. Nothing Panther does surprises me.
Swt500, don't buy your Kimble complaint. Slow moving cars have always been part of the 500. Drivers either adjust or they find the wall. Unfortunately for JR he found the wall in the world's greatest race twice in three years. BTW, Kimble recovered from the early lap problems to dive a brilliant race. He was impressive in how he caught up with the field and later move into the top 10.

I whole heartedly agree that Kimball did a wonderful job in the 2013 Indy 500. He came literally from last to have a nice top ten finish and be the leading Ganassi car.
