One more race record: Ana was the first driver to receive a marriage proposal during per-race festivities ( she deferred until after the race) All I can say is that is dumb! The last thing she needs to be is distracted from the task at hand. I was spotting for her and that came out of left field. First thought was, "great, way to mess with her head before the race" Then she goes and has the most positions gained and the 3rd fastest lap of the race. Pitstops killed us. Add this 15th place to an 8th place in the F2000 race and I had a very good month.

Honestly? I thought it was pretty Gaudy, certainly one of the ugliest paint schemes to win at Indy

I was looking at it in the winner's circle: what is it supposed to be? Were the eyes for "the gekko?" Was it pure black or a VERY dark green? I couldn't tell if they were "scales" or the moving parts of a robot(?)...maybe not THE worst, but very unique... Tim PS" LOVED the race;loved the lead changes, loved the winner. My youngest loved Wheldon and was a fan from 2003; my oldest and his wife loved Kanaan since 2004...an interesting thought:since he left Andretti, Tony's had what seems to be the most number of different paint schemes...I know this from purchasing several different t-shirts-TJ

Wilson... where did he come from? He was turning laps over 226mph at the end! Fastest lap of the race for him! He was nowhere all day. Glad to see my Denver neighbor score a top 5! However, your Vail neighbor didn't do quite as well. ;D No, he didn't.

Living in East Central Indiana, all race fans were treated to a fantastic Awards Banquet on WHTR last night. Hinch was a hoot as was Sato. Loved The Target vs. Mejier ribbing with Chip and Penske's boys! Briscoe brought up a great observation in the fact how clean everybody drove that 500. The Banquet was like the race---fantastic!

I thought the lines on the scheme were more to do with Hydroxycut!? I agree was not really appealing.... and I can't think winner that looked worse...
Thought it was interesting to see Circle K on the car after all of those coulda/woulda/shoulda moment with 7-11 colors.

As I said to Calvin in an email, that livery is one big cluster of f#%$! I honestly cannot believe it was designed by a professional.
Likewise, I'm not sure I can do that in decal short if doing a full wrap, and I don't think you guys would want to pay $30-$40 for a 1/25 set (assuming someone actually produces one - no point in doing it for 1/18, I'll leave that for green light.)

I'm sitting in Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, waiting for my connecting flight to Oakland from Milwaukee. What an awesome week I just had!
It was great to meet Michael and Lance, and hang out with Bill. Got rained out for Terre Haute USAC show, then postponed for the Hoosier 100 and Little 500. Grrr! But got those in a day late. Let me just say, the Little 500 is simply insane.
However, the ultimate was my first Indy 500 since '65, and boy, did I pick a good one. Sat in the Southwest Vista, turn 1 and was totally involved the whole race. Never a dull moment. And what a finish! Any Nascrap idiot who says there should be a green-white-checker just doesn't understand racing. They race for 500 miles, not 505!
Anyway, pulling for Tony all day and when he came through in front on the last restart I thought, Oh oh. Probably should be second. Then Dario crashed right in front of us. I turned to my cousin and yelled "T.K. just won!!" We high fived and I will confess to tears in my eyes. Absolutely no more deserving winner.
In his post race interview he said late race cautions breed another caution and if not, Munoz would have learned a Lot those last few laps.
And beside that, got to hang with sprint car ace Tony Elliott before the race.
Loved every minute of it!! MJ

You needed a long enough layover in PHX to go see the Penske Museum in Scottsdale....

Agree with everyone. A fantastic race. My biggest worry was that if this thing finishes under green flag there is not enough room on the front stretch for everyone to have a shot at this race. They could have gone 5 wide but I don't think there would have been room for all of them. Great day for racing looking forward to next year. The Freedom 100 was a great race also. Was great to be there live and in action. Only if they could get Carb day crowd for Pole day.

www.minimusclecars.com/product.php?productid=18716 Another link to a pre-order for a 1/18th TK winning car. I have a feeling these will go like hot cakes. I thought his car was alright. Was most interesting but I would not call it ugly. You have to see it in person to get a good look at it. I have seen some ugly schemes in my day.

I also want to say is the 3-wide start this year was the best in many years! Usually it was straight line by the time they went through turn 4.
and oh BTW did you guys here that this years Pocono 400 (should be 500) will be a 3-wide start!
