Wow, I just discovered the forum (thanks Michael for the link (: ), too late to be part of it officially... can I join non-officially?
I already have some Senna kits built in 1:20 and 1:43 (actually had some more, at an model reunion another Senna fanatic bought most of my 1:43s, now I have to build them again, what a problem (: ), but would like to do something new, maybe a Fujimi MP4/6. I also got decals and kits to make a 1:20 MP4/4B, it will be fun to mix a MP4/4 and a MP4/5 to make it. Actually the only Senna kit I'm still to buy is Tameo MP4/6 superkit, the rest (to my knowledge) I have, only a few built. Including the Mercedes 190E from that Nurburgring race in 84, a 1:24 kit.
I also bought for my christmas gift a playstation 3 just to play GT6 Senna Edition (((:
Its great to see the projects going on. I guess many are almost ready, are they? Would love to see pics of works in progress.

Great to have you, there still are over two months to go to the deadline, c'mon and start building with us! Jordan Thanks, Jordan! Already started the MP4/6. I have the Hobby Detail set & brakes, plus correct decals and carbon fiber decals, so it will be a lot of fun ((: It took me a while to understand the HD photoetches, the instructions arent the best around, but comparing with instructions and marking on them what will be changed to PE made things understandable. Removed chrome from engine pieces - a shame, its a great kind of chrome, but they chromed all the tree because of two or three pieces that could perfectly well be painted silver. Besides the exhausts, that would need dechroming anyway because of mold lines. Ok, now a quesiton: The kit engine head covers are flat, with just some ribs and Honda logo. But the detail set says to sand this off and add their parts with the six spark plugs connections, much like the previous V10 engines had. This kit is the Japan race version, but I also have the Brazilian race version and its the same. On Tamiya MP4/6 book both versions are shown, but since I dont read japanese, dont have idea which is correct where. The Tamiya MP4/6 also have the flat heads. Around the web I found both versions on the MP4/6. Someone has any info on that? (I also made this question on Honda site forum, lets see if someone fills the blank.) {}Overtake

Since my "forced" hiatus, I have a couple of 1/20th scale F-1 cars in the building phase.
Please help this demented mind to remember which 1/20th kits I can build for a tribute?
Thanks! mONGO

Thanks! mONGO Hey, Mongo. There are quite a few 1/20 Senna kits in plastic and IndyCals sells most/all I think. Going on with Fujimi MP4/6
I'm now finishing the preparation of all pieces, still some body parts to file and remove scratches. I dont know exactly what to think from the plastic Fujimi is using on these kits. The black parts are somewhat soft, too soft. The look is great, I'm thinking about not painting some of them to use the plastic look. But its hard to file this thing, its like it deforms and when you put it to the side the thing return to the previous shape (:
The white plastic is more the usual one, more brittle, better to work with.
I'm having some doubts about what PEs use and which to let behind. Things like the front suspension support looks better being all separate pices (the set lacks proper springs, that would be great. But I will do my own), but then the piece surface is much better on plastic, the PE doenst have so much detail. I'm thinking about how to mix both, or duplicate the details on the PE. Lets see...
Other doubt point is replacing suspension arms attachments for the PEs. It seems too fragile, I will try to keep a part of plastic between the bended PE sides instead of cutting everything off as instructions say to do and then having only glue to support it all.

Saw on another forum that the attached logo is on the FW36... Cool tribute! By my math there is only 55 days until May 1st. If you are going to get something built before the deadline, please realize how much time is left I need to spend a few hours this weekend working on my 99T suspension and anything else I need to do before paint... that way when the weather gets better, I can paint the body finally!! I do feel badly that I didn't come close to getting my build done. Life just got in the way. The good news for me is that Studio 27 is coming out with a cockpit detail set for the MP4/8. Now if they'll just release a CF sheet I'll be really happy.

Yeah, Paul, I'm the same way. Congrats to the guys that finished cars for the forum build. I have some free time in May where I hope to get paint on mine, weather permitting.

I finished mine! (: Well, not the Fujimi. Mid april I noticed I was late. Could have worked like mad on the kit to try to finish, but decided not to hush it. So I went for a Tameo 1/43 McLaren, much easier to build and a nice addition to my 1/43 collection. Still to do pics, will post soon.
