Well, here it is with decals. I'm posting it here because I missed the deadline on the winter build contest. I have the remaining rear suspension pieces and the water fill spout, the windshield, mirrors, wheel spinners done but not put on this until I finish the snake exhaust. I've pulled three pictures and show three different configurations for the exhaust tubes into the collectors. I also have a photo etch seat harness to install. I also need to add the rivet detail and clear coat the body. I believe that with these photos you can see the overall result. I hope you like it.... The master Helper and his product...

So is the helper your son? Looks like he likes the build, too!

Yes, the master helper is indeed my son, his name is Jarrod, he is 14. My older three children never got into scale modeling. Now in their 30's it is doubtful they will. And actually, I'm hoping that he was simply admiring his handiwork, but you're probably right (smile).
You really cannot see the tire stripe on these pictures that I painted. I used the Firestone portion of the decal and solvaset then flat acrylic black around the sidewall.
I'll post some final pictures once the last items are completed.

Thanks guys!, I believe the parts count went from around 30 in kit form, to a final count of 223.
I learned things about this car that I never knew before building it. Cutting out the big battery box and building the cockpit, front suspension and radiator detail was a challenge. Authenticating the various changes to the scoops, engine cowling, short suspension, and scratch built parts as well as the item colors was sometimes fun and other times exhausting. Not sure if I'm building this much scratch detail again soon, but I'm glad that others (different than me) appreciate it.
After weighing it with all the brass and other metal details, I believe it weighs every bit as much as any similar die-cast.
Thanks for looking and the positive responses.....

I started mine right after you started this. I didn't take me long to realize that to build this into anything which resembles the actual car requires much more skill, patience, time, and other attributes which I do not possess. You did a fantastic job with this. I may just finish mine OOB just to use Michael's great decals. Great job!

Awesome job on a dog of a kit! I had that kit long ago (before Indycals) and couldn't bring myself to attempt it. I may have to look for another, your build is inspiring!
