Not sure about the car, but it seems to be a young Michael Portaro driving!

Something from the mind that brought us the Eagle Aircraft IndyCar? ;D JK It is a cool looking concept.

Headline: "Missing Pontoon Boat Found Upside Down in Racecar Shop"! I wonder if it ever turned a lap?

I'm at a loss. There are a few similar cars from the 2nd series Can Am such as the Escort and Invader.

Here's a thought... "News Flash! One of the America's Cup boats has gone missing. Reports have it that someone is trying to apply the concept of twin hulls to a land-based application. More on this on the 10:00 News." Patrick

I'd have to agree about that being a car in the second CanAm series. I'm leaning towards a couple ideas on which one, but I need to do some digging. Nic

My vote is against the CanAm car as the front tires are too wimpy for a 454 Chevy pushin' them. There seems to be a FAtlantic or FB car behind the mystery car and the tires more match one of those.

Engine in on the opposite side of the driver. Kind of a cool concept. I wouldn't want to wreck it with the driver being right there on the side!

I seem to remember when this car was shown in "On Track" that it had a "Hemi" Dodge engine it? Anyone confirm or deny this? Chris

Very interesting! It does have some of the lines and is based on what appears to be an Atlantic chassis. Hum-m-m-m-m-m.

Kinda like a reverse Supermodified. Probably great turning right, but unless Fatty Arbuckle is driving (or Tony Stewart - oh no he didn't!), left handers could be an adventure. MJ

Thanks for an entertaining answer to the mystery.
I raced at Waterford Hills once in 76. It was a country club's private track and there was skeet shooting going on just a few yards away but the cars had to have "mufflers" so as not to offend folks who had bought houses along the back straight.
