Has anyone ever given any thought to creating a model of Jack Brabham's revolutionary car, the '61 Cooper Climax? Does anyone have any ideas where to begin? Where to find a vintage Climax engine? Where to find drawings, specs and/or a Cooper model?

That is Phillipe DeLespinay's site, he owned the car up until about 10 years ago, when he restored it he had all the original build info and drawings. A life long family friend, Phillipe had it on display at the Marconi Museum where I had unlimited access, and took a few pics, due to my Dads items being on display. Anyone interested in doing this car could contact him at that site, he is a Modelers friend and designer of many of the Heller car kits, a great guy.. Chris

pbh: Patrick did this a while back and it was outstanding...check here... mb2501.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=4162&action=display&thread=1691It appears the pictures are gone but Patrick tells how he uses "plastic toy cars from Asia" to create some great work. A lot of scratch building (Patrick's nickname is "Parts-box From Hell") but the results are impressive! Kind regards, Tim

I read the post under F1 1950-1962 from f1tommy about new 1/24 kits. Please look there since there is a reference and link to a 1959 Cooper kit. I realize that it would need to be modified but it might be a place to start. Good luck. This certainly was a historic car in Indy's past. Jim

I agree Patrick has set a very high standard and not just for this car.

My thanks guys. Let me re-post the photos as I moved the photos on my Fotki site and that's how they got lost. I put the photos back on my WIP thread.
