Well, I have the plane ticket, a room somewhat close to Indy is reserved, a rental car is reserved, and I am ready to go! Just waiting on confirmation of the comp race tickets.
We are going to be driving from Wisconsin on Thursday the 23rd. I see there is an open wheel collectibles show at the Fairgrounds that afternoon through Saturday, plus the Hoosier 100 is scheduled that night. Am I wrong or does an afternoon at the show followed by Silver Crown cars that night sound amazing? How is the collectible show?
Also trying to decide between the Little 500 at Anderson and the Night Before the 500 at IRP. I think we also have a show at Bloomington in the mix, on Friday I think.
So, any suggestions? How about a get together someplace? I have friends from San Diego camping by the track, so I would like to show them a special, insiders good time. Clearly, I'm not the insider - you guys are!
Looking forward to my 2nd 500, and the first since '65. Hope the race is as good as last year.

There is a collectors show at IMS on Saturday - in addition to vendors (such as myself ;-), there is usually a huge autograph session with former drivers, and a lot of vintage cars on hand. Friday is carb day - final practice and the Indy lights race.
FWIW, I will only be at the IMS show and I plan to debut some new parts there.

Thursday Vintage Indy cars are running at the Speedway from 2:30 to 4:30 pm, Memorabilia show at the fairgrounds along with the Hoosier 100, This show also runs Friday and Saturday.
Friday Vintage cars at the Speedway from 8:30 to 9:50 AM followed buy Carb Day and Indy Lights Race.
Saturday Memorabilia show at the Speedway all day. 33 Roadsters on the track 9:30 to 10:30 AM, lead by Parnelli Jones Static display to follow.
Stop by and say Hi. I'll be helping Can Am Cars with there Vintage Cars Thur. and Fri. not sure which cars we are bring yet, and well have a table at the show at the Speedway Sat. Lance Sellers , Gary Doucette and Mike (INDYCALS) Portaro also to be there at the show Sat.

Yes It is Can Am Cars from St Louis, His shop is only about 10 minutes from my house. So I get to spend quite a bit of time there since I'm retired. Can't get much better since I retired Real Race Cars and model cars.
We are working on a Vintage Car weekend at Gateway Motorsports Park the weekend after Indy May 31 and June !st in conjunction with the USAC Silver Crown Race on June 1st. Gateway has ask us to us to put together the Vintage Car portion of the weekend, The Vintage Cars well have the track all day Friday an about 2 to 2 1/2 hours on Sat.
If anybody needs more info on this event contact me.

I've been to the Night Before The 500 and it's a great show. Watched some kid named Gordon race there years ago. Somebody said he went stock car racing.

I am setting up to sell my collection of vintage all racing photos & die casts, racing suits at Indiana Fairgrounds show. My buddy is thinking of bringing his midget car to sell. They have Indy 500drivers lined up for signing. I like they have it opened during both races, Hoosier 100 and Mini Indy midget Hope to see you. I like the track show, but sell my higher end stuff, buy from dealers and trade at Fairground show. Bringing Grandpa to get his Indy & F1 stuff appraised by Heritage Auctions at this show. Hope to meet you.
