Briscoe has no ride this season...Penske let him go. Rahal offered him the Conway deal and he said no. Also heard he was in the running for the second Dragon seat but lost out to Saavedra.

Too bad Briscoe couldn't get a seat. He's still one of the more talented guys in IndyCar and really has settle down from that wild kid that tried to kill himself in Chip's cars. Him being back at Dragon would have been a cool reunion as I think it was Dragon who gave him a second shot at IndyCars.
I like Dinger and I like Penske so seeing him in the #2 car will be good I guess... something about getting burned last year by him makes this hard to sit right with me... can't put my finger on it exactly...

There is a long list of what is wrong in Indycar, and near the top is the fact that a driver like Briscoe has no ride. When you look at some of the names that have a full time ride you just have to shake your head. I'm so old that I remember when teams hired drivers instead of the other way around. Take Care Craig

I looked up briscoe losing his penske seat a few days ago, and I did not see anything in the news, strange. Shame he lost his ride, The captain can be a tough person to deal / work with from what I have read.

The biggest surprise there is that IZOD is owned by PVH, which appears to own just about every name brand piece of clothing in the world. A good sponsor to have - they need to keep them around. Of course, I shop at Target and Costco, so no Calvin Kline for me. MJ

A few years ago people were shaking their head that Briscoe ended up in a Penske car while other drivers watched from the sidelines.

A few years ago people were shaking their head that Briscoe ended up in a Penske car while other drivers watched from the sidelines. I agree, Michael, and I was one of them. However his record in the past 5 years puts him toward the top of the heap. I would not put him with the all time best by a long shot, but he is much better than a lot of the full time drivers. I like AJ and hope he does well and I will not second guess Penske, but I am a bit suprised. Take Care Craig

doesn't surprise me at the least. you hear Dinger talk about Penske and you would think that he thinks of Ding a his kid, one that made a mistake but still stands by him because he's said the right things and done the right things since.
I loved Dinger in NASCAR, but I'm REALLY looking forward to him in IndyCar. IMO, he may be considered the '2nd seat' but he'll be outperforming Castroneves in no time and my guess, maybe even from the beginning.
