Some help, please. I am working on Gary Doucette's kit of the 1938 winner with decals from Indycals. What color do I paint the wheels? I have done the body in red and black thanks to suggestions from Michael. I can't tell from the black/white photos what color the wheels are. I assume they are either red or black but does anyone know for sure?

Gary's prototype model has the wheels painted red. I tend to agree, looking at the b&w photos the wheels appear a similar tone as the rear of the body.  Hosted on Fotki |

Right you are and thanks so much. Gary sent me photos of his prototype and after seeing yours I agree. What a great picture. It also clears up which seat in Gary's kit is correct.

Hi Jim, The 1938 Winner had red wheels. Here are a couple shots. These were in practice before the race. The numbers weren't on the car yet.   Tom |

These pictures are amazing, Tom. Thanks so much for sending them. Where in the world did you find them? You did the same thing with the 1933 winner. You are a treasure!!!
