I found something I find REALLY amazing. www.formula1.com/inside_f1/rules_and_regulations/sporting_regulations/12877/Go down to the very bottom where it says "Championship entry fees". Red Bull has to pay $500,000 plus $6000 for ever point it scored in 2012. A rough calculation brings in a total of: $500,000 + $2,760,000 (460x$6000) = $3,260,000 The other teams pay $500,000 plus $5000 per point: Ferrari: $2,500,000 McLaren: $2,390,000 Lotus: $2,015,000 Mercedes: $1,210,000 Sauber: $1,130,000 Force India: $1,045,000 Williams: $880,000 STR: $630,000 Caterham: $500,000 Marussia: $500,000 For a whopping total of $16,060,000. And that's just entry fees for ONE year!!! That is freaking unreal...

All just pocket money to Bernie . And when you think he bought the rights off his mate Mosley for next to nothing.................................. Seems a bit of a disincentive to succeed - the more points you get, the more you pay! Don't think many sports would survive on that ethos but it's small beer to the teams compared with what they can earn in sponsorship.
