I would like to build the 1973 STP Eagle that Swede Savage drove. Would the AMT Eagle kits from that era be a good start, if not what would you recommend?
I would like to build the car as it is very pretty and Savage was a great driver taken too soon.
Thank you in advance for your help.

The AMT kit is an 'ok' approximation, but there is nothing about it that is remotely accurate. If you can get your hands on a Bill Jorgensen resin body that is your best bet. I also make a proper drivetrain and rear wing for the 73 Eagle, using 3d printing.

Bill Jorgensen make a resin body that is much more accurate. Indycals is working on having a new and improved engine, gearbox, and rear wing for the Eagle. The shapeway pieces (link below) will done in resin which will be cheaper and easier to work with than the 3D printer parts. Nice for a preview though: www.shapeways.com/shops/Indycals?l=36Jordan
