I have pages set up to place a deposit on the upcoming Lotus 49 and Tyrrell 003 kits by Ebbro. If you want more than one of each kit a deposit will be required on each kit (ie, if you want two of each, total deposit would be $40). Expected release is April/May for the Tyrrell and May/June for the Lotus 49. At this time I expect to offer a Navy Cut package for the Lotus 49 to depict it's victory in the 1968 Spanish Grand Prix. Michael, do you know if Ebbro is going to do variants of the 49? I always loved the '69 South African car with its double high wing variation that I thought would look really cool on the shelf next to... well anything else LOL As a model I think that 49B is one of the more unique variants of the aero-genesis years.
Still love this '67 green and yellow car - simplistic well engineered and wicked fast.

Ebbro is supposed to be releasing a 49B and 49C. If you notice there is a gap in their product numbers from the 49 (eb20-004) and the Tyrrell (eb20-007). Somehow the two Tyrrell kits got pushed ahead of the 49B and C on the release schedule. The B will be a high wing version

Sweet! Thanks Michael - It's so nice to be able to deal with someone you can trust. My deposits are forthcoming!
I love the Lotus as Clark was my hero as a kid and I still think the best driver ever. And I am so happy they are doing the shovel nose Tyrrell - I thought it looked better than the sports car nose, plus I actually got to see it race at the Questor GP.
It's a great time to be an F1 modeling fan. Though I do miss the days of $20 kits from Japan.

If they are coming in at different times, will we have to pay separate shipping or can you hold the order until complete?

Brian There would be separate shipping, but I could do it however you prefer if you'd rather they ship together, but I would probably need payment for the first one when it arrives.

Michael, how long before you begin taking preorders for the 002?

Michael, how long before you begin taking preorders for the 002? I don't have a price yet (I would imagine it's the same as the others, but don't quote me). All I can say is that my price will be the minimum that Ebbro allows me to charge :-) But since I can put in my pre-order, I guess I can take pre-orders so I did set up a page for pre-ordering: www.indycals.net/kits/eb20-008.htmlI also set up an ordering info page. There is a button on each kit page, and it just explains my terms and procedures. The key points - the $10 deposit is refundable up until my pre-orders are shipped to me - once they are en-route you are committed to purchase the kit (a pre order is a commitment by me to purchase a kit for you above and beyond what I plan to order for my inventory). If you pre-order more than one but want me to ship them together if they arrive at different times, I will need the balance paid for the first kit when it arrives. The balance for the remaining kit(s) will be due when they arrive and when the full order is ready to ship any remaining balances and shipping will be invoiced. Hopefully when things get more established I can relax this a bit, but right now I rely on kit sales to purchase further inventory. And I just want to give a big THANK YOU for those who have placed pre-orders! Your support means a lot to me. My Lotus 72s should be in later today at which time I will make them available for immediate purchase. The 1970 72C (Rindt) will ship with the missing sponsor decals at no extra charge. The 1973 72E will have an option to add a full set of my decals for $2.00 off their regular price. I expect to offer similar packages with the Lotus 49 (Navy Cut 1968 Spanish GP), 49B &C (missing sponsors) and Tyrrell 002 (alternate livery option)

What's the alternate livery option for the Tyrrell 002?
This can get complicated with pre-orders involved. With the cost of shipping these days, I want to combine items a much as possible.
If I pre-order the 002 and 003 and lets say the 002 comes in, will you hold it until the 003 comes in? What if I want to buy some of the decals or other items? How do I get it all in one shipment? It would be nice to have a virtual warehouse like HLJ but I know you are just a one man operation.
For these reasons, I think it best if I just wait for what I want to be in-stock.

Send Michael an email explaining what you want to do - I'm sure he can help you in some way or another.

Thanks Jordan. He might able to do some kind of a "virtual warehouse" but I can see where it could quickly result in emails going back and forth and just become a burden on Michael's part, which I don't want.

As far as adding decals to ship with the kits, etc. - not sure but that's why working with him directly is best. He was out of pocket all day yesterday and I'm not sure about today. Which is to say, you might not get a quick email response, but you will get one. Jordan

Holding kits to ship together is explained on the ordering info and return policy page and summarized in my post above. www.indycals.net/kitinfo.htmlAs for adding decals to a pre-order, you can let me know what you want when I invoice you for the balance due on the kits.

Here's the alternate liveries that could be done with the Ebbro kits: Graham Hill, 1968 Spanish GP, Lotus 49 Eddie Keizan 1973 South African GP, (Tyrrell 004) John Love 1969 South African GP Lotus 49 Paddy Driver 1974 South African GP Lotus 72E and Ian Scheckter 1974 South Africa

For the Lotus 49, how about the livery that had the Firestone and Shell decals on the side of the nose? If my memory is correct, I think ran like that at Watkins Glenn in 67. That dresses it up a bit in my opinion.
