by... HASEGAWA! This thing looks NICE - looks like it will put the Tamiya 312T3 to shame. Got mine preordered through Hobby Link Japan www.hlj.com/product/HSGFG1More pics Also note the clear parts for the brake ducts and intake trumpet surrounds - very nice added detail!

Mike, Yeah.... Hasegawa!!! ? 1/20 !!! Thats really a surprise. Those guys have never done anything in 1/20 and they haven't done any kind of F1 kit for a LONG time. It looks like a great kit. I wonder if they got their hands (bought out) another companies master. AND .... Am I just behind on all the new kits or are those Fujimi kits something new also ... Ferrari 126CK and 641/2 ? RussD

What a great year for 1/20 F1... at least if you're a Ferrari fan - Fujimi - 2 versions of the 126C2, 2 versions of the 126CK, a 1990 640/641 and supposedly a Ferrari 248 is on the way, and now this from Hasegawa - and the way they tooled it I would expect at least a 312T, as common parts to the two cars on on sprues together. One of the 126CK kits is the 1981 Canada car, complete with Michelin rain tires!

I wonder if they got their hands (bought out) another companies master. I don't think so as I'm pretty sure there's never been a 312T2 in 1/20... at least not injection molded.

I have an AMD version of this car, but thats a resin kit. I can't remember anyone doing a plastic version of the 312T2 in 1/20. Protar did the car in 1/12.

Well, any new 1/20 kit is welcome, I guess, & I have nothing against Ferraris, but it seems like a McLaren M19 or a Hesketh or a good PLASTIC Lotus 79 would be more welcomed by many modelers. Just MHO - Brian

I got my 312T2 last week - very sweet kit! Great attention to detail, much better than the Tamiya 312T3. Parts molded in red, grey, white black, clear and chrome. Wheels go together in such a way that it is easy to paint the gold centers. Plastic seat belts included, nice rivet detail on all surfaces of the tub. The decals are great... whenever I get a new kit I do my own decals, but these are so nice I want to use them! My 'only' complaint - and this is minor - no spark plug wiring. In the meantime I'm trying to finish up my 126CK so I can start on this one.

Where did you get the kit? Hobby Link Japan www.hlj.com/product/HSGFG1It should be in US hobby shops eventually. Based on the Fujimi F1 kits that have been coming out I'd say in about 3-6 months.

Much to my surprise I saw this kit in my local hobby store today... $57!!!
but still less than a Model Factory Hiro or Studio 27 kit.
