Last Lap is pretty nice even though it is not a Lola

Last Lap is pretty nice even though it is not a Lola I never understood why Lola schemes got put on Reynard bodies from 2003 and on!?!? Even a 2000 Lola body would have been better (to me) than using the even older 1999 Reynard mold. Anyone know why? Looks like they kept cutting corners because the Last Lap car has inside of the tire decals but the DHL and McD cars do not. Also, the Bridgestones are going the wrong way on the right side of the McD's car - oops! Who signed the #5 IRL car? Just doesn't look like it is a Luyendyk sig. The collection is very nice but even better is the wife who supplied them - supportive women are great to have around! Which ones are you keeping as-is and which ones are future donors? Jordan

#5 IRL autograph appears to be Paul Tracy ...Interesting! Is there a story that goes with that? Chris

No, the # 5 was autographed by Rick Treadway. He actually drove the car at select races during the 2001 season. These will be be added to my collection which continues to grow each month. I have plenty of donors currently sitting on my workbench. I am hoping to get the Last Lap and McDonald's cars autographed this weekend along with a few others.

Well, either way its very cool, and having a wife who supports our hobby ( and understands our needs as well) is Excellent. My Mrs Claus got me a mint sealed AMT Porsche 907 / Ferrari 330 P4 double kit, really hard to find in that condition, from local Antique Mall! and approved the purchase a Yorozuya Brabham BT46B photo etch set , equally rare, and the matching Tamiya 1/20 Brabham BT46B kit.. this will appear in 2013 as a WIP. Ohhh and a Chrome full size ceramic Skull!! thats beautiful! Turned out to be a really great Christmas and a Happy New Year!! I hope everybody had the same.... Chris

I have many of my cars signed but I always have the person sign on the bottom of the car. Personally, I do not like ruioning (IMHP) a beautiful paint scheme with a scribble of an autograph. I have a few that are signed on the top but most are not.
I usually have a gold or silver paint pen which works great on those cars with black bottoms. Sometimes the signer asks where I would like them to sign.
I also have several pieces of art signed. If it is a limited run print I ask the drivers to sign in pencil which is the standard practice. When I had Al jr. Sign a print he knew that it should be in pencil, I was impressed.
Not trying to start something here just my way of doing signatures.

I never felt like you werer trying to start anything Professor. When I first started collecting I refused to have a driver sign a diecast. I then thought about the underside but I could never appreciate the autographs in my display case. I now love having the cars autographed on the top so they can be easily viewed in my display case. To each his own, just as long as we enjoy our hobby.

I have mixed views on that. I myself don't like the die cast car signed either. I do have a couple of chrome cars and a gold car signed by Michael Andretti. I think it looks really cool to see a collection with all autographs. I just would never fell comfortable lugging my car around the track to find the driver to sign it. Nice collection and very nice Christmas list. It looks like I saw a few of those on E-Bay. Great place to get them. Keep up the great collection.
