I have this kit, how'd the decals work out? Did they lay down over the bump in the hood without to much trouble?

Decals were not stretchable. I cut a bumpsized hole in the sheet. I cut so the film around color was ample for strength. Solvaset helped the clear film disappear. In the kit, I got two color pieces and one final bordered piece. Put down one color piece with hole, then used bits of other color piece to fill the hole, then final piece again with hole, then filled hole so every area had two layers. I closely trimmed the border from the front of the final layer and used the black line to fill here and there as needed. Trim the black border from the very top of the side sheets, it will show through otherwise. Of course the exhaust side and top were nyet problemi. What you just read is what I would do if I had another one. What I did do is try to cover gaps with paint that turned out to be not exact match. You can tell. I may try to mix a closer shade and blend it in better. The red spray is Duplicolor Flame Red. It is bulletproof- I handled the car a lot after spraying with no wear-throughs. Good luck, its a cool car.

Thanks for the info, I'm thinking about painting the flames. Either way it's going to be a challenge.

Thanks for sharing this especially the info about the flames. I found the flames on Petillo's 1935 car and the stripes on Shaw's 1936 and 1937 cars to be hard too. I do have to learn how to post pictures. I also got this kit from Gary but have not gotten it built yet . Yours really looks great. He tells me his next project is the 1935 Pirrung that Wilbur Shaw drive to second at Indy. Jim
