Minichamps couldn't have done a better job on this one. Actually I think it's nicer. Great paint & decalling.

You DO make it sound simple but somehow I managed to spent about 90 minutes taping off that wing

You DO make it sound simple but somehow I managed to spent about 90 minutes taping off that wing What color did you spray FIRST? Before I start a paint job I study my plan of attack. Spraying the first color is critical. The wrong first color can make the NEXT very complicated. On your car if I did the yellow first, I would then have a real project masking (covering) it off for the red. Just saying. On my Rockingham for instance if I would have sprayed the blue first, then covering it, especially on the nose would have been almost impossible.

Covered with grey primer, then white primer. Masked off the red portion and sprayed on the yellow. Peeled off the mask. Masked off the yellow. Sprayed the red. All sound simple. Still took a long time.

Still took a long time. With all due respect it sounds like too much unnecessary masking. After the white spray the red (with no masking), now tape off the red then hit it with white again to cover the overspray on the endplates, then spray the yellow, remove tape & you should have sharp lines between the red & yellow. Just one time masking. This is the way I do all my rear wings.

I tried that but got too much bleed through of the red after the second primer

I tried that but got too much bleed through of the red after the second primer You don't need to primer again, just shoot the white it will bond to the red over spray. Did you shoot a heavy coat? How long did you let it dry before the white again?
