I have had for years a set Skoal Bandit decals to create a 1983 March that Teo Fabi drove back then. I have never found a matching resin kit or body etc to use. They are Cady decals and I have heard that Bill Jorgensen is creating an 83 March and I was wondering how to get in contact with him. I am new to the board and have just found this sight. Thanks

Yes, Bill does have plans to do the '83 March as well as the '82 Wildcat. I did some of the work on the masters and sent them back to him in January. The Wildcat was about 80 -90% done while the March was about 50%. He also has the master for the '91 Penske of Mears which I also worked on. He's had that one back for about 2 years now! So, I wouldn't get in a big hurry.

I do appreciate the info. I heard there was a resin body years ago that looked terrible and I figured it would be a matter of time before the 83-84 cars would be done by someone.

Yes, there was an 83 March that was done a few years ago, but it is was a vac-u-form body with a resin tub. I believe that Cady did the Teo Fabi (Skoal) and Tom Sneva (Texaco Star) decal sheets for this car. I'm glad to hear that Bill is working on an all resin version. AND... Glad to hear about the Wildcat and Penske cars as well. RussD

I see on Lance's garage page he shows a drawing of Mario's 83 Lola. Is there a model of that anywhere? Does anyone know why there is such a gap in early eighties cars? We seem to go from the 79 car to the late eighties in the available kits. Just wondering. Thanks

I bought a '83 March vacuform with Fred Cady's Fabi decals from kitbash1, a member here, but this was years ago off of the RANMF board. Then, I traded lazierfan the body and decals for two '84 March vacuforms earlier this year - what can I say, I'm a Mears fan!!! lol I have also seen a vacuform body with other pieces on eBay earlier this year. Body looked similar to the one I had - not really sure if it was the same or different. Thought about picking it up but it was more money than I wanted to spend when I have no real desire to build a specific '83 March. Only reason I bought a '83 March in the first place was in hopes of making it an '84 anyways!
So there are vacuform bodies out there but they are rare! HTH

I bought, some time ago a vac-formed 83 March from the late Bill Gebhard who wrote articles for "Fine Scale Modeler" in the late 1980's. They are crude and rough so I never did anything with them. Now that Bill is gone, I'm glad I have them.
Best to you
Russ
