Caught the race replay on Speed (forgot that I have all 450 channels this weekend during the free preview). Realized how much I missed cable....
I thought it was good. I knew the ending but the early contact Vettel had to overcome was superstar kind of stuff. He's always been a superior driving, to me, I mean he has Toro Rosso's only win and even with the excellent Newey piece, he outpaces his teammate regularly.
Just wondering what you guys thought...

I thought the race was action packed and loved the changing weather conditions. I have a hard time understanding how anyone could survive that spin and come back to finish so strong. Really amazing.
Sad to see Schuey retire again and was really hoping he could have pulled off a miracle podium finish.
I was most impressed by Massa though. Incredible drive and if given the chance would have finished 2nd I think.

This was a vintage year for fans of open wheel racing. F1 had so many different winners and went down to the last race. Same with Indycar, and even USAC Sprints went down to the last race. Proud to say I saw the final race of both Indycar and USAC and the racing was as good as it has ever been. Wish I could have added Austin - maybe next year.
Can't say these are the best looking race cars ever, especially the big butts on Indycar and the stupid - I mean stepped nose and narrow track and wings on F1. Sprint cars, well they look just as awesome as ever, I have to say. As I told someone recently, there are few if any beautiful purpose-built race cars anymore. Afraid there are no more P4s or Ford GT Mk 2s coming down the pike. Aerodynamics are taking us in some less-than-handsome directions.

One of the best season ending races ever. Great entertainment and was so happy to hear Sam Posey as well!

Reminded me a lot of the 2008 season finale - much of the same drama and weather conditions. Not quite the same climactic finish, but a race that held my attention from start to finish.

That's the first time I've watched an F1 race start to finish in many years. It was really enjoyable. It's actually got me looking forward to next year.

No only this race but the whole season was very enjoyable for me. I watched every min of practice, F1 Debrief, qualifying, and Races. I'm just sad to see the Speed channel coverage going away .....but at least we will still see David and Steve. It was nice to see poor o'l Sam Posey yesterday.

Interesting twist possibly. Is this the incident that was reviewed by officials and the TV broadcast during the race?

FIA says there is no case to review, the pass was legal. What a bunch of putz's.

From Vettel's in car camera, it sure looked like he passed in a yellow zone. I expected a drive thru. That would have given him the chance to drive back to a 6th place. A 20 second penalty after the fact would have been very harsh, but rules are rules. This thing has cast a shadow over what has been a classic run for the championship, the best driver vs the best car. In either case, the winner deserved to be champion, in my opinion. Take Care Craig

I don't understand what the issue is: It was brought to the stewards attention during the race. They reviewed it and determined that the yellow in question was a 'slippery track' warning, and not a 'do not pass' yellow. End of story.
Now the call against Hulkenberg for taking out Hamilton was BS, IMO.

I agree with you 100% on the Hamilton, Hulkenberg deal, Michael. I don't have any real problem with the Vettel deal either, however, later in the race, in the same rain, that light was not on. Take Care Craig

If my man Kimi can have the same reliability and a little more speed he will be a real threat next season, and no one made a more ballseyer pass than Kimi on Michael Schumacher going up Eau Rouge at Spa! ;D

Amen, Paul. There was a lot of awesome passes this year, good to see skill and guts from the drivers, instead of a battle of the machines. If Ferrari wasnt pulling our leg, Alonzo whipped that stallion and did some amazing driving from the heart to get as far as he did with a car that right till the end they said was terrible... Chris

Alonso said that he's better than Vettel , he's a looser who don't know how to loose, i hope that next year Massa could have a little more chance to win races. Rarelly i see F1 races, cause i work at sundays, but to me, F1 now is very, very bore . I still prefer to see old F1 races on youtube, cars were cars and drivers were drivers, and the old Interlagos with almost 8kms were a real racetrack. See Gilles Villeneuve with his 312 T3 is unforgetable. A bad news: Rio de Janeiro racetrack was demolished . Cheers. Alex
