Just bought a donor to try and make his'09 National Guard car. Going to display it with my autographed posters of Danny Boy!

My wife and I went to Vegas last year to take a MUCH needed rest which included taking in the race. We meet an executive and his family from Duncan Aviation in the elevator on the way to breakfast and he offered us a ride to the speedway in his car and once we arrived he asked if we would be interested in joining him in the company suite to take in the race...unbelievable luck! He than proceeded to take us on the roof top of the speedway (next to the TV cameraman) where we would be one of just a few people permitted....again UNBELIEVABLE...AMAZING VIEW and AMAZING luck until the accident....My wife and I both saw the initial contact and I immediately knew it was bad......it was VERY personal for both of us. My heart goes out to the entire Weldon family, fans and friends. I thought about Dan many times today at work, I'm REALLY glad I saw his final win. God speed Danny Boy!

My daughter is a huge fan of Dan's and it was mostly because of the way he treated her. What stood out to me was he would always take the time to get down and look right at her when he talked to her. You walked away with the feeling that he remembered you from the last time.  |
