Revell Germany 1/24 Mercedes SLS AMG, Hobby Design upgrade set (Safety Car decals, light bar and mount), Hobby Design photo-etch upgrade set. Aftermarket wheels. This started as "a project" then seemed to change to a fairly simple build, then became a project again. I wanted to build this car since the moment I first saw it but no kit was available. Finally Revell Germany issued a kit of the street car. I planned to print my own decals and modify a lightbar from a Police car kit but Hobby Design created an upgrade. The light bar and mount were close but needed modifications as did the seats, the wheels, the interior. I photo reduced a couple of pictures of F1 cars for the video screens, added 5-point harnesses, several anteanna, flocked the interior, floor mats and covered the console in carbon fiber decals. Of course as I nearly completed the build I discovered that Fujimi has now produced a full kit of the Safety Car. ACK! Anyway here's a bunch of pics starting with the real car. ![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n62/indyjim1/rightfull.jpg) ![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n62/indyjim1/finishedrightside.jpg) ![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n62/indyjim1/interiordash.jpg) ![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n62/indyjim1/finishedinterior1.jpg) ![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n62/indyjim1/finishedrightfront.jpg) ![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n62/indyjim1/finishedrear.jpg) ![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n62/indyjim1/finishedfront.jpg) ![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n62/indyjim1/engine.jpg) ![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n62/indyjim1/finishedtop.jpg) ![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n62/indyjim1/underside.jpg)

Really cool project. I mean, does any other racing series have a high speed medical pursuit vehicle? Nice clean build with great details. Certainly unique thinking that paid off!

Porsche Cayenne is just an ugly truck ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Nice build there. I Thought of building the same but decided not to as I will not have any F1 cars to accompany it in the same scale.

You are right. It is just for show ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) The medical car in F1 is an Mercedes station wagon. But it would be neat to have both cars even if it is 1/24 scale.
