This is kinda old news but it makes me sad that my favorite channel is going to be turn into FOX Sports an all sports channel. Another thing that makes me sad if F1 is not going to be on that channel anymore which makes me wonder were Varsha, Hobbs and Steve are going? I love those three. especially ol' Hobbs.

I saw this abomination last night at the motel we were staying at. I thought it was some off the wall thing that SPEED was doing. Then I noticed the FIXED NEWS logo. A lousy fist-fighting match. Didn't know that these clowns had taken over SPEED.

Doesn't Fox already have a dozen Sports Channels that nobody watches?

Didn't know that abomination was considered a bad word.

Doesn't Fox already have a dozen Sports Channels that nobody watches? That's what I always thought as well..... But overall Speed has gone down hill IMO in the last few years with all the Darn reality shows that has taken over 75% of the schedule. I miss the old Speedvision.

I hear you, Calvin. I watch F1, Grand Am, and Windtunnel ( in spite of Robin), other than those, Speed is pretty lame IMO. Take Care Craig

Long time Indy car announcer Bob Jenkins retired at the end of this season. It would not surprise me at all to set Bob Varsha take over that spot as he did used to do Champ Car races for ESPN. If you remember, Bob Varsha and David Hobbs were together at ESPN doing F1 and then were hired by Speedvision to their broadcasts. So it also would not surprise me to see NBC do the same thing by hiring Varsha, Hobbs and Matchett for their F1 broadcast team. At least that’s what I hope for. By the way, am I the only one around here that likes Robin Miller? Personally I think he is spot on with his reporting, but maybe that's for a separate discusion.

Not everyone hates Miller I'll miss Speed but we've been cable less for a few years now - just trying to save money since cable/dish keep raising prices and offering less. Stinks that most big league races are on cable. NBC Sports Network could be positioning itself as a must have channel for us open wheel guys if they get F1 as rumored. I loved the Speed F1 team (except for Posey) and would love to have them stay together going forward. Jordan

Not everyone hates Miller I'm with you there Jordan. Robin has been right way more than he has been wrong. And he loves racing. I always figured that, back in the "dark days", the fact that folks on both sides hated him meant he must have been doing something right. I figured nothing good could come out of Fox buying Speedvision back in the day. It's been a slow long slide, but F1 leaving is not a surprise. Now there is more room for "classic Nascar Tech Garage" or some such drivel, and more cheap reality shows like the obnoxious car parts guy or the obnoxious tow truck driver, etc. Lets hope that NBC Sports grows it's commitment to racing beyond F1 & Indycar. It sure seems that there are way too many things happening in motorsports that cause us to say "Well, back in the good ol' days..." MJ

Just got this from my RACER - Daily Bulletin:
NBC Sports Group is the new home for Formula 1 in the U.S. for 2013. A four-year contract next year will see four races on NBC and the remainder will be on NBCSN, the same network that is the cable home for the IZOD IndyCar Series.

Sucks about Varsha - what's Fox going to do with him? There's only so much Barrett Jackson he can do (assuming Fox will still cover it).

Well we got 2/3rds of them - I already knew Varsha still had another year or so with Speed/fox.

I know I'm behind the curve with a reply, but like Paul above, I enjoyed robin Miller. I prefer a columnist who voices his thoughts and not a "party" line. But good to see the F-1 guys mostly intact. Does anyone know if we'll continue getting live feeds or more tape delays?
