Paul Newman passed quietly today. He was a friend to racing as well as racer himself. A champion on the track and off.

Phil Hill and now Paul Newman. A sad few weeks for racing.

As a long time Mario fan, I remember well how he formed the Newman Haas Racing Team. Always at the races and really good with fans. He will be missed.
All that aside, my favorite Newman movie was SlapShot. Some of his best lines from that movie:
"They brought their f*****g toys with them!"
"Hanrahan! Hanrahan, Suzanne sucks *****! I know, I know. She's a lesbian."
"Eddie Shore, Toe Blake, Dit Clapper. Now those were the greats."
Sorry about the intonation of vulgar words. That's how the movie went and part of what made it so funny. And Paul Newman was at his best as Reg Dunlop.

Although somewhat "corny" plot line I always liked the movie Winning....Frank Cappa....I believe was his character name and he won in the 1968 Rislone Special.
I liked James Garner in Grand Prix as well...much better movie.
