Wow! MB puts up the dough to get him in their car. I guess being in an MB powered car wasn't enough. Thoughts?

It is a strange one. Maybe he is hopping for a number one status which Mclaren doesn't do.
Looking forward to seeing Perez there, he has a better chance at Mclaren than at Ferrari, where he would be a number two to Alonso regardless how good he is.

Mercedes has stated Hamilton & Rosberg will have equal status at Mercedes for 2013.
Maybe Perez will win a race next year,
I personally think Perez hurt his chances with Ferrari by passing Alonso at Monza for 2nd, and for fighting alonso for the win at Malaysia?

I think it will be interesting to see what Hamilton can do at Mercedes.
I think the choice of Perez at McLaren is a bit odd. McLaren has never been a team to take on a young, unproven driver. However, with the backroom rumors that Vodafone may leave F1, perhaps McLaren is thinking ahead. Perez does have the backing of Telmex.

McLaren has taken risks much Larger than Perez: Hamilton was a risk in 2007, Kimi Räikkönen in 2002 after one full season in F1 was an even bigger risk for McLaren. Maybe the sponsorship with Vodafone could possibly be an issue, 2013 certainly will be interesting.

Thoughts about Ron Dennis' leaving the F1 side ultimately affected Louis' loyalty?

Kimi was a risk, but I think Perez is an even bigger risk. I also think the move to Mercedes may be a bad idea for Hamilton. It may be awhile before he wins another race. Mercedes doesn't appear to be that good.
