Can someone tell me how to take apart one of thes and the best way to strip the Paint.

Hah, don't use paint stripper. I used that and all of the plastic parts melted (didn't know they were plastic though). OOPS!

First you've got your car Underneath, remove all the screw. It should separate at this point There's one more screw to take out in the "gearbox" The bottom half of the attenuator will fall off, don't be alarmed Take a razor and cut off the glue holding the aero bites in place in two spots There are two more screws holding the cockpit in place This is the toughest part, the cockpit/suspension are glued in place, what I do is use a small, flathead screwdriver and gently break it loose from both the front and back, you'll hear a snap and then gently take it off the tub. The tabs the glue was on are no longer needed, take some nippers and cut them off (this will make re-assembly fairly easy) The rear wheels simply pull apart. The mirrors and antennae can be gently pulled off and the bits at the sidepod entry broken off (they are rivited in) Pull the steering assembly out (breaking off the steering wheel is optional) and pull the driver out. Pull the front wheels off the suspension. The nut will break off, it's not made to come apart. You should be all set. I just brush paint stripper on the metal body, but others do it differently. I don't think there is a "right way" to strip the paint, it's always messy and a pain. The rear wing is plastic, so I usually just mask the wing off, scrape the decals off, and prime it. Again, a lot of this is personal preference, but it has worked for me. Thanks Scott

Submerge all the plastic parts in ELO overnite then brush off the paint with a toothbrush. I have a 1/2 gal. can of this stuff @ $7 per 8oz. can. Can't work without it. I use Kleen Strip for my metal parts.

Thanks for all the help! I got the car dissembled and the metal body stripped fairly easily
So now what about the plastic parts? How do I strip them without melting them or do you seal them and paint over them or what ?

My recommendation for the plastic parts is a couple of coats of primer and then paint them. The numbers on the rear wing endplates are extremely difficult to get off and frankly, not work the trouble when you can just primer over them.

Depending what the paint is (enamel or solvent) & markings are (tampo or decal) primer may cause these to blister, again depending if it's a solvent primer.....just saying.
